The American Samoa High Court has granted the government's application to appoint an independent attorney to prosecute four employees of the Attorney General's office.
This clears the way for the government to charge Stoechert Allen, Tiresa Su'a, Rosalia Fuavai Burgess and Lancaster Allen over missing immigration fees that the public paid for certificates of identity.
The Chief Justice will now appoint a three member judicial panel to select an independent prosecutor to bring charges against the four suspects accused in the disappearance of over 80 thousand US dollars in immigration fees.
