Enga to host PNG government in February

11:46 am on 7 January 2009

Enga will be the first Papua New Guinea province this year to host a meeting of the National Executive Council.

The Governor, Peter Ipatas, has told the Post Courier newspaper that the Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare, has agreed for the NEC meeting to be held on February the 25th.

The Governor says the province had budgeted 150,000 US dollars for the event.

He has commended the initiative by the Prime Minister to hold the NEC meeting in Enga, saying it was important that leaders get to visit isolated provinces and that rural people see and meet their leaders.
