Investors are in Solomon Islands this week to discuss a potential tuna cannery location in the Foumamanu area in East Kwara'ae.

Getax Australia, a consultant agency, is expected to start a feasibility study on the locations potential by June this year.

The SIBC reports the Australian agency and a U-S based tuna consultant agency of Tuna Tech Services have held an introductory meeting with tribal landowning representatives of Foumamanu.

Don Hosokawa of Tuna Tech has described the meeting as successful and they are serious about investing in Foumamanu.

The visiting consultants are expected to meet with Malaita Premier Richard Na'amo Irosaea to brief him on the meeting's outcome today in Honiara.
