The Secretariat of the Pacific Community is to open an office in the Solomon Islands capital, Honiara.

The SPC's Director General, Dr Jimmie Rodgers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding establishing the office with the Government.

The Foreign Affairs Regional Economic Cooperation Assistant Secretary, John Tuhaika, says opening an office in Honiara is an important step in the partnership between Solomon Islands and the SPC.

The office will manage and perform SPC technical assistance and other support services rendered to the country for the next four years.
