Repairs to damaged water mains at Fiji's Nagado Treatment Plant have been completed following a landslide.

Residents in Nadi and Lautoka have been experiencing water problems since Friday when the landslide struck in Vaturu.

Divisional water and sewerage engineer Samuela Tubui says teams from the Public Works Department have been working all weekend to fix the broken pipes.

"It's a gradual process. You know, the restoration process in terms of supplying to consumers will take some time. And you know, we are advising our consumers to call our office if they don't get water, and they're supposed to get water, or they get low pressure."

Samuela Tubui says water has been restored to 90 percent of residences with full services expected later today.
