Consumers in Papua New Guinea will pay more for petrol and kerosene this month while diesel continues to drop for the seventh successive month.

The Post Courier newspaper reports the latest fuel prices moves were announced by the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission or ICCC.

The Commissioner and chief executive officer of ICCC, Thomas Abe, said the increase in petrol and kerosene was the first since August last year.

Mr Abe said the rises were attributed mainly to an increase in oil prices at the global market and continued depreciation of the kina against the US dollar.
