The number of P&O cruise ship visits to Vanuatu is expected to rise by 80 percent compared with last year.
P&O Cruises says demand is growing for its holiday packages, meaning the number of stops to Vanuatu will jump from 100 last year to about 180.
The Chief executive of Carnival Australia, which owns P&O Cruises, Ann Sherry says the increase in demand is partly due to people finding cruise ship holidays more convenient than flying.
"The Pacific cruising is really the backbone of the cruising out of Australia and New Zealand. So the demand is growing all the time and that's why we are bringing in two more ships to sail out of both Australia and New Zealand into the Pacific, particularly to Vanuatu."
Ann Sherry says Carnival Australia is working closely with officials in Vanuatu to provide more opportunities for holiday goers to spend their money and help build the country's economy.
