Telecom Vanuatu Limited has announced that it has released 19 of its staff.
The Vanuatu Daily Post says the move comes as no surprise in the wake of a tough environment in the Vanuatu telecommunication market, since the introduction of rival company Digicel in 2008.
The Chief Executive Manager of TVL, Ian Kyles, told the Vanuatu Daily Post, their decision follows careful consideration of their ongoing and future business requirements.
He says says the company has ensured that it meets or exceeds all legal requirements relating to staff severance payments and other staff entitlements.
