Papua New Guinea coffee prices recover

Papua New Guinea coffee prices recovered in January from a three- month low towards the end of last year.

The newspaper, the National, reports the industry regulator Coffee Industry Corp this week released the commodity's bulletin, saying the increase in prices for the local coffee was a direct effect of the increase in the near-month settle price of Arabica of 7% on the international market.

On the domestic market, prices for parchment coffee picked up by 9%.

Last December's coffee figures were unavailable but the 9% leap was a

reversal of trend, compared to last November's 9% drop.
