Former All-Black player, Michael Jones says he's humbled in the fact he will soon share an honoured title with Samoa's Prime Minster, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi.

Michael Jones who didn't realise he was the first Samoan to gain a Distinguish Alumni Award from the University of Auckland says the Alumni title is beffiting of Tuilaepa's political achievements.

The former All-Black says Samoa's Prime Minister is the perfect reflection of a childhood Samoan proverb, that anything can be achieved.

"Being able to preserver and complete his studies and also excel and then go into a very successful political career is a wonderful example for all young Samoans, you know that nothing's impossible and even individuals from very humble beginnings which is most of us,.we might not have much materialistically but can demonstrate that if you aim for the moon maybe if you dont get there you'll be up there in the stars. And I think the Prime Minister is a wonderful example of that."
