Fiji's interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, says the US Ambassador to Fiji, Steve McGann, should stop meddling in the country's affairs.

Fijilive reports Mr Bainimarama's comments come after Mr McGann called on Fiji's people on Monday to work together to ensure the rapid return to democracy.

He says Mr McGann should not be interfering in Fiji's internal affairs, adding the country will hold elections when ready.
