Papua New Guinea's coffee industry has posted record export earnings of more than 180 million US dollars for last year - the highest earnings achieved by the industry so far.
The Coffee Industry Corporation said the result was achieved on the back of higher prices, combined with higher export volumes.
It said that growers received 66 per cent of the total earnings, while exporters and processors retained 19 per cent and 15 per cent respectively.
The CIC is urging growers to increase production though rehabilitation and planting of new trees to take advantage of this year's higher prices .
