Lawmakers in American Samoa have rejected three of Governor Togiola Tulafono's nominations for cabinet directors.
The rejected nominees are Manupo Turituri as director of the Agriculture Department, Dr. Salamo Laumoli as director of the Health Department and Fa'afiti Taunuu as director of the Territorial Administration on Aging.
Cabinet director nominees are subject to Fono confirmation.
It's not immediately clear why the lawmakers objected to the three appointees.
The governor has the option to resubmit the three nominees when the Fono convenes in July for the 2nd regular session or submit during the current session new nominees.
