Fiji's interim Defence Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau is due to meet the police commissioner, Esala Teleni, to discuss the homemade bombs that were thrown at the homes of Fiji Times editor-in-chief Netani Rika and security recruitment agent, Sakiusa Raivoce.
Ratu Epeli told Fijilive that the suspected politically motivated attacks on the property of prominent citizens would not be tolerated.
He said police was doing all they can to arrest those responsible for the firebombs.
Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said police had no idea who was behind the attacks but a special team had been set up to investigate the matter.
Earlier attacks have involved rocks and stones being thrown at houses and vehicles, this was the first where firebombs have been used.
