New Zealand teams excel in week seven of Super 14 rugby union competition

The South African Sharks lead the Super 14 rugby union table with 26 points after their 35-14 win over the Brumbies in Durban.

The Waratahs are second with 23 points after breaking an 80 year drought in Auckland with a 27-22 win over the Blues.

The Chiefs are the top New Zealand side sitting in third spot with 22 points.

The previously unbeaten Bulls slip to fourth after their huge loss to the homeside Highlanders 36-12 but have a game in hand .

All five New Zealand sides are in the top eight of the competition with Hurricanes with a game in hand fifth on 20 points.

The Highlanders, Crusaders and Blues all on 18 points holding sixth to eighth spots.

Australian and South African teams share the bottom six positions.
