In Samoa, the fishing vessel, Kathryn J, which has been missing for over a week has been located.
A major search operation has been called off after the crew on the boat made contact last night.
Assistant police commissioner, Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo, says the vessel which belongs to Apia Fish Export Packers has been located near the Cook Islands.
But Lilomaiava says the boat was in an area which was no where near the actual area being searched.
He says because the last location of the fishing boat reported by the fishing company was wrong, that misled the whole search and rescue operation by the police patrol boat, the MV Nafanua, and a New Zealand Orion P3 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft.
