Blue Sky Communications hopes to provide fiber optic connectivity in American Samoa by the end of May if no major delays are experienced.

President of Blue Sky, Adolfo Montenegro, says that once the fiber optic cable is handed over to Blue Sky and the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority, the phone companies will be responded for connecting their customers in American Samoa and Hawaii.

Mr Montenegro says services which Blue Sky hopes to provide immediately to customers once they connect to the undersea fiber optic cable include real time services-video conferencing, streaming into and out of American Samoa.

He says BlueSky will more than double its current capacity to the internet.

Mr Montenegro says the people of American Samoa will experience world class internet and as broadband is made available to most homes by the local internet service providers, the experience on the internet will be more like using internet in the USA.
