UNDP security conference attendance list revisited

It's unclear who will attend a conference in Tonga next week about security issues in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.

The Security Sector Governance Regional High Level Conference is hosted by the United Nations Development Programme in co-operation with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.

The UNDP issued a statement earlier this week, saying ministers responsible for security, parliamentarians, ombudsmen, civil society organisations and law enforcement institutions were invited to take part in the four-day meeting.

It said the list of those attending included Fiji's interim defence minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau.

But the UNDP is now unable to confirm who will be at the meeting.
