Tourism figures in French Polynesia have continued their decline, with a 25 percent drop in visitor arrivals in the first quarter of this year over 2008.
The decrease hit all sectors of the industry but in particular the cruise ships whose passenger numbers in March were down 45 percent.
Tahitipresse reports that top hotels recorded an occupancy rate of just over 40 percent.
