An official at Information Technology American Samoa Incorporated has announced the company must have a permanent lease with the government before it can move forward with setting up a test call center facility.

InfoTech has the exclusivity agreement with the American Samoa government to set up call centers in the territory.

Company official, John Newton, says InfoTech has been actively looking for a better site to start operation and at this point, the first choice is the Haleck building currently being completed in Tafuna.

However, Mr Newton says the company's ability to move forward on a lease for that location is predicated on completing a land lease with government for a permanent location.

He says the government has been working on the lease document for over a year and says without a permanent location InfoTech simply cannot do anything.

He says everything in the better center will undergo a final testing mode, including its telecommunications connections, computer equipment, employees and methods.
