A New Zealand Court has charged a ni-Vanuatu working under the Recognised Seasonal Employer scheme for using false documents to hide his true identity.
Radio Vanuatu quotes the acting Police Commissioner, Major Willie Vira, as saying the worker, Fred Longis, changed his identity while in Vanuatu in order to join the scheme.
Mr Vira says the ni-Vanuatu man is in custody in New Zealand and is being deported.
