The interim Prime Minister of Fiji, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, says there is no point in the Pacific Islands Forum trying to re-start dialogue with his regime.
The Forum has said it wants the Ministerial Contact Group, made up of Pacific Foreign Ministers, to resume its meetings with the interim Government.
This comes after the Forum suspended Fiji over its refusal to hold elections this year.
But Commodore Bainimarama told Radio Tarana in Auckland that if the Forum is unwilling to change its stance on elections then further talks would be a waste of time.
"I don't know what they want to come and talk to us about because they have already suspended Fiji. You talk before you come up with some suspension like that. What would they want to talk to us about?"
