Former senior official of PNG Football Association gets three year ban

The Oceania Football Confederation General Secretary ,Tai Nicholas, says they were left with no option but to hand the former senior vice president of the Papua New Guinea Football Association Seth Daniels a three year ban.

Daniels has been involved in a court battle with PNGFA since 2007 when he was asked to step down from his position for allegedly bringing the game into disrepute.

Nicholas says there a procedures that FIFA put in place to address a variety of issues.

"Mediation, going to a sports tribunal and going to the Court of Arbitration for support, we sent him letters, we had a board meeting, the board also sent him letters , we also went to see him, we had a delegation go up and still he refused to withdraw the court proceedings."

Tai Nicholas says Seth Daniels has the right to appeal.
