The price of alcohol and spirits is to increase across the board in Fiji.

The Fiji Times reports Fosters Group Pacific Limited said the price varies according to range with beer to increase by 5 per cent, ready to drink products by 8 per cent and spirits 10 per cent.

The country's largest brewery has also implemented cost-cutting measures and withdrawn two major sponsorships.

FGPL general manager, Ross Shaw, said the increase would lessen the impact of devaluation on its operation.

Mr Shaw said this was a challenging year for the company and it was difficult to maintain the sales volume in their Fiji and Samoa operations.
