More than one hundred women of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Pacific region have gathered in Samoa this week for the church's regional congress.

The Director of the Women's Ministry Pacific Union, Marcia Takalau, says issues to be covered at the congress will be the types of abuse some women face every day and also the rights of women.

She says they decided to hold the Congress in Samoa to highlight the increasing number of women being abused in the country.
