Two Samoan men charged over death of a taxi driver appear in court

The two men charged with the killing of a taxi driver in Samoa whose body was found in the boot of his taxi last month made their first appearance in the Supreme Court yesterday.

They are 23 year old Uati Vaifale Afe of Leauva'a and Tuana'i and 24 year old Tafiga Taupauna of Tuvao, Satapuala.

Since their arrest, their identities have been kept under wraps by Police.

The Samoa Observer reports that Supreme Court judge, Justice Lesatele Rapi Va'ai granted an application by prosecutor Precious Chang for an adjournment for the Police to finalise charges against the two accused.

The matter has been adjourned to 22 June.

The two are charged with the murder of taxi driver Ofisa Ofisa.
