A competition in Tonga entitled, Rulers of Hip Hop, plans to honour music legend Michael Jackson who died on June the 25th.

The two-day event will get underway on July the 23rd, when competitors will fight for a place in the finals, which will be held on July the 31st.

An organiser of the competition, Monalisa Palau, says they've decided to dedicate the competition final to the life and achievements of the King of Pop.

"On the finale we've given them a mandatory [music] mix of number one songs mixed in with a couple of new songs from Michael Jackson and we've put it into about four minutes and they have to dance to and they have to incorporate at least 30-seconds of Michael Jackson's moves."

Monalisa Palau says so far eight groups have registered for the event which will be held in the Atele Indoor Stadium in Ha'ateiho near Nuku'alofa.
