Health authorities in French Polynesia have confirmed three more swine flu cases in children who have returned from a trip to New Zealand.

Local radio says the children are being kept in isolation in hospital and those who have been in touch with them are also being looked after.

The latest infections have brought the tally of French Polynesia's H1N1 flu cases to nine.

The health ministry in Tahiti has warned that a real risk of infection exists for those travelling to New Zealand, Australia, Chile and Japan.
