American Samoa's senator Utu Abe Malae has accepted an executive post with the utility provider in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Utu says he was approached recently by the Commonwealth Utility Corporation and accepted the job as Assistant Executive Director for Operations - Water, Wastewater and Power.

Utu, the former chief executive officer of the American Samoa Power Authority, says the position is for two years.

Utu's first official duty for CUC is to represent the company at next week's Pacific Power Association Conference and Trade Exhibition, held in Pago Pago.
