A 35-year-old Nigerian man who was arrested by the FBI in Hawaii last month will be facing a two-day trial in Samoa's District Court in December over charges of theft and false pretences.

The accused, Okorro Williams, has denied stealing 10,000 US dollars from the Samoa Foreign Exchange Company while he was in Samoa in July for a brief business visit.

According to court documents, Mr Williams left Apia for American Samoa immediately after he received the money.

He later travelled to Hawaii where he was arrested and brought back to Samoa for investigation over alleged fraud.

He has been released on tough bail conditions to await a trial set to begin on December 2nd.
