Former CNMI lieutenant governor serves time in Arizona

The former lieutenant governor of the Northern Marianas is now at the Federal Correctional Institution in Phoenix, Arizona, serving a seven-year sentence for corruption.

Timothy Villagomez, James Santos and his wife Joaquina Santos were all found guilty of defrauding the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation and the United States.

James Santos is serving his six years and six months in prison in California.

His wife is listed as still in transit.

She was also sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

The three appealed against their convictions and sentences to the U.S. Court of Appeals.

It remains pending.
