Papua New Guinea has offered 1.8 million US dollars to assist its tsunami-devastated Pacific neighbours American Samoa, Samoa and Tonga.

The Post Courier newspaper reports that the two Samoas will receive about 725,000 US dollars each while Tonga will receive the remaining 350,000 dollars.

The Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare says PNG stands ready to assist in any other way possible.
