The Federal Emergency Management Agency in American Samoa has raised the possibility of relocating some of the villages which were hard hit by the September 29th tsunami.

FEMA official, Dennis Coliten, told a meeting of the chamber of Commerce that the relocation is to prevent further loss of life and property.

He says this is the third local disaster he's been involved with and from what he's seen this is the worst devastation he's seen on the island.

"Some of the facilities that are in flood plains, we may end up relocating, that's one of the things this week, we've got people coming on the island that will be looking at flood plains, they will be looking at opportunities for mitigation one of the priorities that FEMA is being given is that we want to hardened facilitates against future damage."
