In Solomon Islands, police and local efforts to find three missing fishermen in Temotu have been bolstered by assistance from New Zealand.

The Temotu Provincial Police Commander, Sterry Leni, says he received a call this morning from the office of the New Zealand High Commissioner in Honiara that an aerial search by New Zealand is now underway.

The trio went missing since last Thursday when they went out fishing near Tenakula volcano in Temotu Province.

Since then RAMSI officials and the local police including local fishermen had been out in search, but with no result.
