American Samoa's Inter Island Air not sure of when flights will resume

The Pago Pago-based Inter Island Air hasn't had any flights to Apia and Manu'a since Friday and airline officials aren't sure when services will resume.

Staff at the Inter Island Air Office in Tafuna say their aircraft are undergoing FAA mandated maintenance.

They were not able to give travelers wanting to book flights to both Apia and Manu'a an idea of when they will be flying again.

Inter Island Air is the only carrier serving Manu'a.

Residents who were planning to spend their Thanksgiving holidays in Apia said that they tried booking on Polynesian, the only other airline flying to Apia, but those flights are fully booked.

A Polynesian staffer said since Inter Island stopped flying, Polynesian Airline flights have been full.
