American Samoa airline put aircraft up for sale

11:48 am on 27 November 2009

The owners of the now defunct South Pacific Express Inc. in American Samoa have put their Shortz 360 aircraft on the market.

Avamua Dave Haleck says they have decided not to continue with the airline business, and hope to have the plane sold by early next year.

When the airline stopped flying in September Chief Executive Officer Captain John McNeely said while flight operations are on hold, the airline will explore alternatives that will allow SPEX to serve the needs of customers.

SPEX has vacated its office premises at Tafuna Airport and is retaining a lease for the hangar, until the aircraft is sold.
