Pilot of a small plane survives crash at air show in New Caledonia

The pilot of a small plane has survived a crash during an air show in New Caledonia.

The pilot, who has been named as Christine Darbel, suffered a broken thigh when her Cap 20 aircraft crashed during an aerobatics exercise at the Ouatom Air Show.

After the crash, she was flown by rescue helicopter to a Noumea hospital.

About 2,000 people attended the air show which brought together aero clubs from around the territory.
