Polynesia Blue pays Samoa government US$3.6m

The Board of Polynesian Blue airlines has been given 3.6 million US dollars to the Government of Samoa.

The money pays back the full value of the Government's initial investment in Polynesian Blue paid in 2005, and a special dividend from the operations of the national carrier during the 2009 financial year.

For the financial year ended June 30th 2009 Polynesian Blue recorded a net profit after income tax of 640,000 US dollars and the airline's accumulated net profit since its launch in 2005 has been 11.7 million US dollars.
