The president of the Suva Retailers Association, Himmat Lodhia, is calling on all the people to help move Fiji forward.
He says political leaders need to think of the nation ahead of their own agendas.
Mr Lodhia, in a New Year's message, says whatever has happened is past and it's the responsibility of all to move the nation forward.
He says there are a lot of people watching Fiji who want to invest and assist the country in positive ways.
