The newly sworn-in governor and Lieutenant Governor of the Northen Marianas say they will continue working to bring prosperity back to the CNMI and will not back down in the face of economic and federalisation challenges.
Benigno Fitial and Eloy Inos were sworn into office at the stroke of midnight on Monday with no more than 40 individuals present, mostly family members, in one of the functions rooms of a resort.
An inauguration was also held at the Saipan World Resort in Susupe where Mr Fitial said there would be a revitalised CNMI.
He says he and his opponents in the gubernatorial race have now come together as there is much more do to bring prosperity back to their beautiful islands.
