Japanese company seeks to build a flight school in CNMI

In the Northern Marianas, a Japan-based company is proposing to build a flight school and training center in the CNMI and has asked the Commonwealth Ports Authority or CPA for space at the airport.

The executive director of the Authority, Deleon Guerrero, told the board that the company, Island Aviation Corporation which already does business in the CNMI wants to wants to lease space.

The paper, the Saipan Tribune learned that Takashi Hirata, the company's board secretary, formally approached CPA two weeks ago about its intention to lease space near the airport.

He described the proposal as both beneficial to the CNMI and the company.
