Georges Wells is the new speaker of Vanuatu's parliament.
He was elected yesterday afternoon following the resignation of Maxime Carlot Korman who resigned rather than face a motion of no confidence.
Last Friday, the coalition government of prime minister, Edward Natapei launched another motion against Mr Korman following several attempts last year to oust him from the Speaker's chair.
Mr Wells is not new to the position having served an earlier term as Speaker.
