Around three thousand people at the weekend attended the consecration of the new Church of Melanesia bishop for the remote Solomon Islands province of Temotu.
Bishop Angus Takeli replaces David Vunagi who has become the new Archishop of the Church of Melanesia.
Archbishop Vunagi and six other diocesan bishops plus representatives from Vanuatu and the New Zealand Anglican Trust Board also attended the consecration in the provincial capital of Lata.
