Samoa's Ministry of Police and Prisons has four new assistant police

commissioners following the appointment last year of a new police

commissioner, Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo.

The new assistants are assigned to head different sections of the ministry

including crimes, operation and security, general policing, and

correctional.

One suspended assistant police commissioner, Moto'otua Tiatia, who is facing

an indecent assault charge as a result of a complaint by a woman police

officer two years ago completed his three year contract early this month

and was not reappointed to the job.

The former senior police officer is awaiting a verdict on his criminal

charges after a trial last year.
