The trial has opened in French Polynesia of 37 former Air Tahiti Nui employees accused of drugs offences.
The alleged crimes were committed between 2002 and 2005 when they were said to have been involved in the import and use of drugs, such as cocaine and ecstasy.
Just about all of them were dismissed when the police opened their investigation.
The action against the Air Tahiti Nui staff angered the unions which threatened to go on strike, alleging at the time the airline acted in haste and illegally as the suspects were to be presumed innocent.
The trial in Papeete's criminal court is expected to last three days.
