The Samoa Victim Support Group has called on authorities to allow the movie "Precious" to be screened in Samoa.

Viliamu Paese of the group says he sees no reason why the movie should be banned.

The movie is being considered by the Censor Board.

Precious is a movie about a young African American girl who was impregnated twice by her father.

The story tells of how she overcame many of the obstacles faced by victims of crime.

Mr Paese told the Samoa Observer that incest is nothing new in Samoa.

He believes that the movie would help encourage people to take action against this sort of crime.
