Public servants in Samoa will no longer get free access to use the internet and electronic mail following the adoption of a new policy by cabinet.
The move is aimed at saving government ministries some of the costs of internet services.
It is also designed to stop the use of internet and e-mail by individuals for personal money making schemes.
In a statement, the government says access will be given for just one hour per working day.
However certain undesirable websites will also be blocked and programmes will be used to monitor level of user usage of internet and e-mail.
