Fiji Methodists to meet police commissoner again

3:59 pm on 29 March 2010

The Fiji Methodist Church leaders will meet with the Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni, for a second time within a week.

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation says this has been confirmed by the church's acting general secretary, the Reverend Tevita Nawadra.

It says the meeting may be over the Church's request to hold public meetings, which is subject to police approval under the Public Emergency Regulations.

Last week, the interim regime restated that the church's annual meetings would be banned until 2014.
