8:50 am on 12 April 2010

The former head boy and a student of Don Bosco vocational school in Samoa have been sentenced to five years in jail following a school brawl two years ago when a Molotov cocktail was used.

Komiti Ene and Joseph Ionatana were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm, and inciting and abetting to cause violence.

The bomb had caused severe body and facial burns to a female student of Leiifiifi College, Francella Tuala.

She was immediately sent to New Zealand for medical treatments paid for by the government.

Both defendants were acquitted of the charge of attempted murder.
