Fiji TV editors sidelined for alleged bias

The Fiji interim government has confirmed that pressure has been applied on Fiji TV to sideline two editors for their alleged bias.

According to the Fijivillage website, the Permanent Secretary for Information and Fiji Television Limited board member, Colonel Neumi Leweni, says the Fiji TV management was asked to remove two senior news editors from the newsroom.

Fijivillage says the action was taken when some Fiji TV board members alleged that the two editors were involved in what it describes as biased practices.

Lt Colonel Leweni said he is happy that the issue has been resolved amicably, with the management ensuring that bad practices are removed.

The two editors have been transferred to other departments.
